We built modern civilization on theories about how to predict, measure, and manage the world. Those theories now sit underneath economics, finance, medicine, public policy—and increasingly, artificial intelligence.

We think something fundamental is missing from them.

That was an abstract problem when humans were making decisions one at a time.

It becomes a civilizational problem when AI is making billions of decisions across society: across markets, supply chains, healthcare, and government.

If the foundations are wrong, we won't simply get bad predictions. We could get financial crashes, catastrophic policy failures, or extraordinarily powerful systems of control.

We are building the institute that asks the question almost no existing institution can ask: what if the scientific map we are about to automate is wrong?
